DB25 Cabling and connection information
All of our products with DB25 connectors use the ANALOG DB25 D-sub Tascam standard.
Each DB25 cable carries 2 stereo inserts (2× stereo send and 2× stereo return). Therefore, an 8-insert setup requires 4× DB25 cables.
There are several standards for DB25 D-sub cables, and while the pinout and channel configuration are identical, the assignment of channels to sends and returns differs between standards.
The ANALOG DB25 Tascam standard we use has the send and return connections swapped compared to the digital DB25 standard. This means that digital DB25 cables will not be wired correctly for use with our products.
This is the correct channel and send/return schematic:
Insert 1:
channel 1 - insert 1 - left send (male XLR)
channel 2 - insert 1 - right send (male XLR)
channel 5 - insert 1 - left return (female XLR)
channel 6 - insert 1 - right return (female XLR)
Insert 2:
channel 3 - insert 2 - left send (male XLR)
channel 4 - insert 2 - right send (male XLR)
channel 7 - insert 2 - left return (female XLR)
channel 8 - insert 2 - right return (female XLR)
